Call to Mural Artist: 2026 La Victoria Miami Collection Mural Project

Introduction: The La Victoria Miami Collection Mural Project, in partnership with the City of Miami, District 4, is an initiative to add more world-class art to The Underline. Situated at a multi-million-dollar development of five Art Deco townhomes in Coconut Grove, these murals serve as a centerpiece for these luxury short-term rentals. Celebrating Cuban heritage through architecture and storytelling, the project occupies what The Underline’s art curator calls one of “the most visually prominent locations in the entire 10-mile park.” This location is highly visible to the thousands of commuters traveling along US-1 and the daily Metrorail riders above, generating an estimated 45 million+ annual impressions.
Project Description:
We are looking for a proposal that reinforces commitment to heritage, community, and the arts. A proposal that creates an enduring Miami landmark celebrating Cuban-American history.
We are seeking creative proposals for two outdoor murals at La Victoria Miami Collection, which will be formally commissioned upon selection, with the owner retaining the right to modify or replace either work at their discretion at a future date.
Eligibility: Emerging, midcareer or established artists. Artists may submit proposals individually or as a team. Designs may be realistic, abstract, or interactive, and must be original and unique to the site.
This proposal must include the two walls:
Wall 1 dimensions (northern wall adjacent to The Underline): approximately 1,400 square feet
Wall 2 dimensions (southern wall adjacent to The Underline): approximately 500 square feet

Scale drawing of proposed mural on 8.5" x 11" paper (color image preferred)
Line-item budget including supplies, material costs, and commission rate ($ per sq. ft.)
Selection Criteria
Aesthetic Excellence: Artistic quality, originality, and innovation
Artist Experience: Demonstrated ability to execute public art projects of similar scale
Relevance: Design should be contextually appropriate and clearly translatable to wall dimensions
Budget: Clear and competitive budget aligned with project scale
Artist Eligibility
Must be 18 years or older
Must legally reside and be eligible to work in the U.S.
Must sign a participation agreement
